Johanna Morkos

Chekka, North, Lebanon

Biography

Johanna Kamal Morkos is a Lebanese violinist born in Paris. She was raised in a family composed of many musicians and singers specialized in the Arabo-Andalusian Tarab style. With their support, she started studying the violin at the age of 6 at the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music where she took lessons in the music theory and later performed several classical concerts for Bach, Vivaldi, Handel and others.

At the age of 17, Johanna participated in big international events in countries such as Tunis, Egypt, Bahrain, Abu-Dhabi and Turkey. Not only an accomplished musician, Johanna has also completed the studies in Interior Architecture at Universite Saint Esprit de Kaslik and continues to develop her own sound perfectly bridging Oriental and Western styles.
