Mar Sánchez

Barcelona, Spain

Biography

Mar Sánchez is a guitarist, composer, and arranger from Sevilla, Spain. From a very young age, Sánchez combined her classical training with the electric guitar and modern music. At 14 she led a rock and roll band called SHE, which won numerous contests including the award for the best revelation rock group in 2008.

She relocated to Barcelona where she graduated from the Superior Conservatory of Music of the Liceu and spent her Erasmus year at the Royal College of Music in U.K. Although her life has been dedicated to studying classical guitar, Sánchez has always combined it with the electric guitar and is currently developing her musical career in the field of Rock Jazz Fusion.

She has participated in numerous International Music Festivals, such as Leo Brouwer’s International Chamber Music Festival, in Havana, Cuba, and has toured in Latin America, the United States, and Europe.
