Playing For Change is excited to introduce Buffalo Nichols in this very special Live Outside filmed in Venice Beach, CA.
Enjoy this intimate performance of “Lost & Lonesome,” the lead single from Nichols’ self-titled debut album, where he gives listeners, what he describes as, a “glimpse into the mind of that traveler looking for a friend and a place to call home;” inspired by his years traveling alone, looking for a place for his passions to fit in, even if temporarily. “Lost & Lonesome” is an ode to exploration and the creative ingenuity of isolation.
Carl “Buffalo” Nichols, who is also featured in “When The Levee Breaks” in our Peace Through Music: A Global Event for the Environment, is a soulful blues guitarist, songwriter and vocalist born in Houston, Texas and raised in Milwaukee’s predominantly Black North end. Since his earliest infatuations with guitar, Nichols has asked himself the same question: How can I bring the blues of the past into the future?
Let’s all welcome Buffalo Nichols to the PFC family and continue to follow his musical journey to transform the blues genre with his evocative storytelling and powerful vocals.
