Biography

Peter “Maestro” Vale is a Puerto Rican musician, born and raised in Chicago. He has studied under and played alongside some of Chicago’s premier percussionists, including “Ogie” Merced and Joe Rendón. Versed in multiple Latin American drumming traditions, he has played with salsa, jazz, and Latin bands. Vale is a conguero and percussionist of the band Dos Santos: Anti-Beat Orchestra. He also currently plays for Son Bayú and YaYa Negra.
