Biography

In 1998, Aguilar released the album Por Mujeres Como Tu, the CD was in Billboard for 52 weeks and has sold two million copies worldwide. In 1999, Aguilar released the album Por Una Mujer Bonita, which won a Latin Grammy. Aguilar has been nominated for the Grammys nine times. In 2002, Aguilar was the first Mexican singer to sing at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California. He was also the first Latino to sing at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. On September 15, 2003 by his Mexican heritage, he celebrated the Mexican War of Independence, Aguilar received the keys of the city of Los Angeles, as previously had been his father. An estimated of 20,000 people attended the ceremony. In 2007, Aguilar sang the Mexican national anthem during the pageantry of the Super-Welterweight showdown between Oscar De-la-Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. in one of boxing’s largest audiences of all time.
