Biography

Mountaga Sissoko is a malian musician born in Bamako in 1966. He his the son of Bazoumana Sissoko, a famous malian n’goni player( traditional griot string instrument). Mountaga is a master talking drum and n’goni player and is also an incredible instruments hand-crafter. Since october 2010 Mountaga teaches talking drum and n’goni at the Kirina Music school.

How we met:

Mark met Mountaga during his visit at the Kirina music school in September 2011. After earing him playing different instruments, we decided to record him on United in order to add this subtle malian feel to the track.
