Biography
How we met:
After recording Vusi Mahlasela‘s original songs, Vusi called some of his friends to meet us in his backyard and Gabriel was the percussionist. Dressed in traditional South African garb, he carried a few congas in and began to jam wildly and we, along with our cameras, became mesmerized. Gabriel recorded on One Love but also offered us a short percussion performance with Vusi that Jon Walls edited with Lesego Rampolokeng verses we recorded in Soweto featured on our documentary film, Peace Through Music.
