Felipe Carmona

Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia

Biography

Felipe Carmona is a guitarrist and composer from the city of Medellin, Colombia, born at the end of the 1970s. He started playing guitar at an early age, influenced by rock music and also plays harmonica as his second instrument. He is the leader of Artefacto, a band through which he expresses his passion for music.

How we met:

We met Felipe Carmona and his friend Alejandro Velasquez in Medellin at the end of our trip in Colombia in an area called las comunas. After recording mainly traditional instruments during our trip we fell in love with the sound and energy of Felipe’s playing on harmonica and guitar. Felipe recorded on “La Tierra del Olvido” and on “Groove in G,” the international jam session released on our last album.
