Biography

Eva Grinan (1946-2013) is a Cuban vocalist who  studied at the ENA (National School of Arts) with Professor Ana Romanian Talmaciano (former singer of the Bucharest Opera) and later studied at the Center for Overcoming Art and Culture in Santiago de Cuba. For years she was a part of the Choir Santiago, and won numerous awards with this band, recording several albums, performing in major concert halls in the country and abroad. Eva Grinan also formed the quartet “Proposicion” which performed regularly at the famous “Casa de la Trova” and collaborated with artists such as Omara Portuondo and Elena Burke. Giving back to her community, Eva did important work in training young singers as a Theory and History of Music teacher for several years at the Conservatory “Esteban Salas” in her native Santiago de Cuba.
