Rajhesh Vaidhya was born into a rich musical environment. He inherited his indigenous talents from his father Sri.K.M. Vaidyanathan, a stalwart both in mridangam and ghatam, who also decided Rajhesh’s career in music. Another beacon in Rajhesh Vaidhya’s life was the Carnatic veena maestro Shri Chitti Babu under whose tutelage Rajhesh learned the finest nuances of veena. A dream come true for Rajhesh as he is under tutelage by the living legend Sri.L.Shenkar presently.
Apart from his blistering speed, performance is distinguished by his use of electric and amplified strings. He is a part of the multi-starred phenomenal international album “Playing For Change.”
In 2001 Rajhesh was honored with the title “Shree Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Aasthana Vidwan” and in 2011 he was honored with the prestigious title “Kalaimamani.” Within the veena and south Indian music tradition, he is undoubtedly one of the most intriguing and technically beguiling artists.
