Biography

Daryl Simpson from Omagh, in Northern Ireland is member of well known Irish Crossover act the Celtic Tenors, and also works as a musician, vocal coach and producer. His early training saw him graduate in music at Queen’s University, Belfast before completing an Opera Masters Degree at the Alexander Gibson Opera School in Glasgow.

He was a member of Opera Theatre Company’s “Young Associate Artist Scheme”, giving performances and broadcasts, in both Ireland and the UK.  His opera career continued as a member of the internationally acclaimed “Internationales Opern Studio” at the Zurich Opera.

Daryl is also the Founding Musical Director of the Omagh Community Youth Choir , which he instigated in the wake of the Omagh Bomb atrocity in 1998. The group was formed to promote peace and reconciliation through music. Other Peace initiatives have seem him work with groups from all over the world including the Shades of Praise, the Future Youth Games and World Scholar Athlete Games. Daryl leads an eclectic musical life of performing and recording and is very proud to be associated with Playing for Change and hope people will be equally inspired by the movement.
